Before Starting
Adding a banner to an Apple Mail email signature is fairly easy when you follow our step-by-step instructions below. However, you will first need to download a banner template and modify it as needed.
To make sure your banner displays properly on mobile devices, a good rule of thumb is to set the size of the banner (in HTML) to about 1/3 of its original dimensions. However, this can only be done by altering the dimensions of the image in the HTML code of your email signature, or by using a tool like Gimmio.
Before following the instructions below, you should first resize the downloaded banner image to the exact size you want it to be in the email signature since the size cannot be changed in the email signature itself.

How to Add a Banner in Apple Mail (macOS)
To add a banner to an email signature in Apple Mail (macOS), follow these steps:
Step 1
Open Apple Mail and click on “Mail” in the menu bar at the top of the screen, and in the drop-down menu, select “Preferences”.
Step 2
In the Preferences window, click on the “Signatures” tab at the top.
Select the email signature you want to add the banner to from the middle column.
Step 3
In the signature editing area on the right, click on the area where you want to add your banner. You may need to click on the end of your signature and press return on your keyboard to go to the next line.
Click and drag the banner onto the signature editing area to place it into your selected position. For this part, it’s convenient to have the banner image on the desktop as it’s easier to drag and drop it into the signature. You can adjust the position of your banner by dragging it up and down in your email signature.
Note: You will need to ensure that your banner is already sized correctly before you drag it into your email signature, as you cannot change its size once it has been added.
Step 4
To add a hyperlink to your new banner, simply select it the same way you would select text, and then in the top menu bar, click on “Edit” and then “Add Link…”
Step 5
In the “Add Link” window, enter the URL for the banner in the “URL” field.
You could link the banner to your own website if you’re having a sales promotion, or to a third-party website to collect customer reviews. There are many options when linking, and the most suitable one will depend on the type of banner you use.
Click “OK” to add the hyperlink to your banner.
Step 6
Repeat steps 3-5 if you wish to add more banners or images to your email signature.
When you’re finished, simply close the Signatures window.
How to Add a Banner in Apple Mail (iOS – iPhone/iPad)
It’s currently not possible to add a banner directly in Apple Mail (iOS – iPhone/iPad). This is because the Signature section doesn’t allow you to paste an image or add it from your photo library. However, you can still paste an email signature that already has a banner in it, into the Signature section.
In this case, we highly recommend using an email signature generator to add a banner to your email signature.
