So if you’re ready to take your email game to the next level, read on for our step-by-step guide to adding social icons to your Apple Mail email signature.

Before Starting

Before adding social icons to your Apple Mail email signature, you will first need to download the icons you require. These icons are small images that represent popular social media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

In order for your social icon images to be mobile optimized, the images should be scaled down to about 1/3 of the actual size as this allows for mobile display scaling. However, this can only be done by either changing the height and width of the rendered image in the HTML file of the email signature or by using Gimmio to create your email signature.

Before following the instructions below, you should first resize the downloaded social icon images to be the same size as the rest of the icons in your email signature.

Select your version of Apple Mail

Step 3

In the signature editing area on the right, click on the area where you want to add your social icon. You may need to click on the end of your signature and press return on your keyboard to go to the next line.

Click and drag the social icon onto the signature editing area to place it into your selected position. For this part, it’s convenient to have the social icon image on the desktop as it’s easier to drag and drop the icon into the signature. You can adjust the position of your icon by dragging it up and down in your email signature.

Note: You will need to ensure that your social icon is already sized correctly before you drag it into your email signature, as you cannot change its size once it has been added.

How to Add Social Icons in Apple Mail (iOS – iPhone/iPad)

It’s currently not possible to add social icons directly in Apple Mail (iOS – iPhone/iPad). This is because the Signature section doesn’t allow you to paste an image or add it from your photo library. However, you can still paste an email signature that already has social icons in it, into the Signature section.

In this case, we highly recommend using an email signature generator to add social icons to your email signature.
