How to Delete Gmail Email Signature

Want to delete your Gmail email signature? Perhaps you’re looking to replace your email signature?

To delete your Gmail email signature, log in to Gmail and go into your Settings area. From the General tab, scroll down until you see the Signature section. Then, simply select the “No signature” radio button and click Save Changes at the bottom.

Log in to Gmail, click on the settings icon at the top right and then click Settings.

Select the “No signature” radio button. This will ensure you don’t use an email signature for outgoing messages.

Click Save Changes at the bottom.

  2. I followed instructions found signature settings yet nothing is there, when I send a email it has a signature. There is no option to remove signature. Please help, I really need to remove them !

    1. Hi Anne,

      If you’re still getting a signature when composing an email in Gmail, and you don’t appear to have any signature installed, then you may need to open a support ticket with Gmail to advise them – they may have a way of manually removing it.

  3. I cannot delete info (old phone number) that automatically appears at the bottom of emails that I send. I’ve tried every suggestion on the web, but not nothing works. Can anyone help? Fingers crossed …

      Surprisingly, this is probably the third case I’ve heard of this sort of thing happening in Gmail. A few others have mentioned the same thing, that they cannot remove some parts of their email signature in Gmail. When they remove it and then click Save, it still appears there and there doesn’t appear to be a way to change/remove it. I would say the best thing would be to open a support ticket with Gmail explaining the issue. They might be able to offer some assistance on their end.
